They Are Not Forgotten
Check out this incredible story from His Heart for Orphans, a ministry at Healing Place Church that is focused on advocating adoption and care for orphans in our local community and around the world. They have made a deep impact at HPC and the way in which we obey Christ by serving the orphans.

”His Heart for Orphans” Adoption Ministry Lifegroup was honored to host a match party for the EBR foster children. We partnered with our local Office of Community Services and had an OCS Fun Day at our Baton Rouge Dream Center for 19 children who are available for adoption. Families were invited to meet these children ages 7-15 years old in hopes that these families would adopt these children. About 35 volunteers showed up and really were the ones that made the day what it was. We had a day full of great food, hamburgers, hotdogs, jambalaya and some pretty awesome Cooking for Christ brownies!! We also had two spacewalks, relay races, gift giveaways, but, most importantly, we witnessed children laughing and meeting families who were interested in many of them and we heard over and over again many thank you’s from the OCS workers who were just so appreciative that we were part of this. Later they stated that approximately six to seven of these children will be adopted by a forever family because of the OCS Fun Day! They also stated that to have that many foster children to potentially get adopted from a match party was out of the ordinary. I told them we will do better next year!!
If I have to narrow down what Servolution meant for these children it would be that “they are not forgotten”. Not only did it let the children available for adoption know that they are not forgotten but it also let the OCS workers know that they are not forgotten as well!
If you are reading this and you are praying about what you can do for Servolution next year - pray about meeting some needs of the foster children in your area. These are the orphans of our communities!
